Chaplin Creek Village Jail
The village jail was constructed from a single car garage donated by the Edward Floto family. It was moved from town in the summer of 1998 and stored at the historical site. During 2000 a stone foundation was constructed for the building and it was moved to its permanent location. The original double jail cells from Franklin Grove were installed in the summer of 2000 and a new facade was built by members of the Franklin Grove Area Historical Society. We are presently in the process of furnishing the building and looking for period items.
