JUNE 14, 2010 MINUTES APPROVED JULY 12, 2010

 

On June 14, 2010 the regular meeting of the Village of Franklin Grove, held at the Village Hall, 105 E. South Street, Franklin Grove, Lee County, Illinois, was called to order by President Robert Logan at 7:12 p.m., immediately following the Public Hearing.

 

ROLL CALL

Present:  Trustees Karen Didier, Tony Schaneberg, Chad Murphy, Scott Spangler, Keith Roop, David Atkinson, Attorney Rolfe Ehrmann, President Robert Logan and Clerk Lori Smith.

 

MINUTES

Motion made by K. Roop, seconded by C. Murphy to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 10, 2010 with corrections.  Passed:  6/0

 

RECOGNITION OF VISITORS

See attached.

Troy Hasselbacher approached the board with a request for a variance to put up a fence.

President Logan advised that he first needs to go to the Zoning Board of Appeals, who will then make a recommendation to the village board. 

Kelly Reagan-Robery advised the board that she is running for the Lee County Board and requested anyone who wished could sign her petition to get her on the ballot.

Marilyn Spangler advised the board the following:

· Baseball Player's will be in the parade

· Concerns about weeds along creek bank

· No word on the progress of repairs of the dug out

Motion made by T. Schaneberg, seconded by K. Didier to pay bills, late bills and make necessary transfers.  Passed:  6/0

 

OTHER PER CLERK

Motion made by K. Roop, seconded by C. Murphy to approve the Prevailing Wage Ordinance for 2010/2011.  Passed 6/0

Motion made by K. Didier, seconded by S. Spangler to approve Ordinance 708-10 changing Clerk and Treasurer Salaries.  Passed 6/0

ENGINEER'S REPORT

(Ralph Tompkins)

Ralph Tompkins of Baxter and Woodman advised the board the status on the Lahman Street project as follows:

· To State - June 12th 

· Advertise - July 1st 

· Bid Date - July 8th 

· Award Bid - July 12th 

Ralph also advised the board that there still has been no word on the Well House Grant.

GENERAL ISSUES

Motion made by K. Roop, seconded by T. Schaneberg to approve two furlough days instead of a wage increase for Don Fore and Ron Miller for 2010/2011.  Passed 6/0

As no further business was brought before the board, a motion to adjourn was made by

S. Spangler, seconded by T. Schaneberg and carried by unanimous vote at 9:08 p.m.
